From our humble beginnings in 1976, Randy's Flooring has grown to be Eastern Iowa’s flooring experts.
We’ve been helping home and business owners in the Corridor area long before it was known as the Corridor – and we’ll be here for years to come. Because of our dependability, selection, and pricing, many of our customers have been coming back to us for decades (and several of our staff members have been with us just as long).
1969
Randy Ward
Randy Ward, future Founder of Randy’s Flooring, gets his first job offer: Installing carpet and vinyl after school and during the summer.
1976
Grand Opening
Randy’s Flooring opens its doors in Iowa City with four employees after Randy Ward completed his finals at the University of Iowa. (Press-Citizen 1976, © by Ancestry).
1977
Moved to Coralville Strip
Randy’s Flooring moves to its current location on the Coralville Strip – long before the street had stoplights.

1980s
During the recession
During the recession, Randy’s Flooring hired many employees from two competitors that closed their doors – many still work at Randy’s Flooring today.
1995
Rebuilt Coralville location
The existing Coralville location was razed and rebuilt.
1997
Builds up its inventory
Randy’s Flooring builds up its inventory and begins buying direct from manufacturers in large quantities to pass along lower pricing to customers.
1999
Opens Iowa City outlet store
Randy’s Flooring opens its Iowa City outlet store. This Outlet location was located on Highway 1 from 1999-2008. The Outlet moved to the former Coral Lanes location on 1st Ave, Coralville from 2008 to 2016.
1999
Randy’s Flooring opens its first store to Cedar Rapids location
Randy’s Flooring opens its first Cedar Rapids location at 5454 Center Point Road NE. This store was relocated to the new Blairs Ferry location in 2017.
2016
Randy’s Flooring celebrates its 40th anniversary
Randy’s Flooring celebrates its 40th anniversary and becomes employee owned.
2016
Redevelopment MidAmerican Aerospace warehouse
Redevelopment of the former MidAmerican Aerospace warehouse begins at 280 Blairs Ferry Road NE, establishing a new Cedar Rapids location for Randy’s.
2017
Celebrates the grand opening of Cedar Rapids location.
Randy’s Flooring celebrates the grand opening of its new Cedar Rapids location.
2018
Announces the state-of-the-art warehouse
Randy’s announces the addition of a new 46,350 square foot, state-of-the-art warehouse in Coralville.
2019
The Coralville warehouse opens
The Coralville warehouse opens in 2019 at 1930 James Street, Coralville.
